William “Bill” Clayburn Bonds, 98, of Clinton, departed from this world on Sunday, May 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 25, 1928, in Holley Mountain, Arkansas to the late John Daniel Bonds and Mary Tennessee Bonds.
Bill was a faithful member of Clinton First Baptist Church, as well as the Lions Club and the Masonic Lodge. He was a well-known businessman in the community, having operated both an auto supply store and a shoe store throughout the years. Bill was a hardworking man who valued family, friendship, and community. In his younger years, he especially enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors.
Above all, Bill cherished the time spent with his family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and service to others. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Jo Ann Bonds; children, Tracey Bonds (David Bise), Bill Bonds Jr. (Jerrie); grandchildren, Brent Turney (Katy), Jesse Bonds (Katie), Megan Blagg (Justin), Wesley Bonds (Jessi); great grandchildren, Sydney Blagg, Carter Blagg, Hannah Turney, Desmond Turney, Jace McElhaney, Claire Bonds, Ruby Bonds and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and five sisters.
Pall Bearers are Jesse Bonds, Wesley Bonds, Brent Turney, Justin Blagg, Frank Baker, and Lee Hodge.
Honorary Pall Bearers are David Bise, Bart Baker, Men’s Sunday School Class, Bill Robinson.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Mission Department of Clinton First Baptist Church in loving memory of Bill Bonds.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with funeral services following at 1:00 p.m. at the Clinton First Baptist Church, Wednesday, May 13, 2026, with Gary Kirkendoll and Nathan Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Clinton Cemetery.
