William Oscar Mayfield, 58, of Clinton, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late William David Mayfield and Jimmie Lou Fortson.
A man of Christian faith, William found joy in fishing and spending time outdoors. His greatest love was his family, whom he cherished deeply. He worked for many years as a dedicated dump truck driver before transitioning to a career as a handyman, always ready to lend a helping hand.
William will be remembered for his warm heart, strong work ethic, and the happiness he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, William Mayfield, Brandon Mayfield, and Kimberly Mayfield; siblings, Morgan Mayfield, Jennie and Teddy Barnett, Jimmy Mayfield, Billy Bunker, Betty and Randy Pruitt, Bobby Mullins, Syble Croston, Carlton and Nancy Croston, Charlton Croston; grandchildren, Layla McBride, Layton McBride, Galvan Mayfield, Cheyanne Mayfield and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
William is preceded in death by his parents.
