David (Scott) Bramlett, 55, of Clinton, peacefully left this world on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at his home. Scott was born in Conway, AR on April 20, 1969, to David Joe and Lois Duncan Bramlett (Lawrence).
Scott graduated from Cave City High School in 1988. He then joined the Navy and served for 12 years as a submariner radioman. After leaving the Navy, he continued in telecom in the private sector. Being a Persian Gulf Veteran, Scott was drawn to the camaraderie of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He served in many capacities within the VFW at his local Post 4764, in District 6, and at the state level, including being State Commander twice. He also served on the Arkansas Marine Sanitation Board and as Chairman of the Van Buren County Republican Party. Scott was truly a born leader always leading with fairness, knowledge, and compassion.
He will be remembered for his ability to be able to talk to anyone. It didn’t matter to Scott who someone was, or their station in life, he would talk to people. Scott once picked up a young man who was hitchhiking and bought him a bus ticket to get home. He seemed to always know the right thing to do or say in any situation. He never lost his childhood sense of wonder and adventure. Anytime Scott was around, the world seemed a brighter place. Whether it was riding his motorcycle, busting through trails in the side by side, or jumping off of the top of the boat, he lived life to the fullest each and every day. He was happiest though when he was around his family. Scott always wanted to make sure his family was safe and happy.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, David Joe Bramlett.
He is survived by his step-father and mother, Gene and Lois Lawrence; brother Danny Joe Bramlett (Tami), step-brother Victor Lawrence, and step-sister, Cindy Vaughn . He is also survived by his wife of seven years, Shannon Bramlett. Scott was very proud of his children: Scott Bramlett (Adrian), Katie Bramlett (Gray Richardson), Chance Taylor (Muriel), Tanner Jones (Mersady), Serena Jones (Dave Harrigan), Hope Taylor (Stephen Walthall), Will Taylor (Avah Bass), and Faith Taylor (Mason Bivins). Not only was Scott a great dad, he was also a Pawpaw to James, Alissa, Kyren, Beth, Laura, and Beckett. He also held a special place in his heart for his nephew and nieces: Jody, Brandi, Danah, and Brittany. Scott always joked that he was related to half the county, so he also leaves behind a host of extended family and a multitude of friends.
We may not have Scott with us in the physical sense, but his sense of humor, values, attitude, and calm spirit will guide, and live on, in all of us.
Pall Bearers are Scott Bramlett, Chance Taylor, Will Taylor, Tanner Jones, Sean Gray, and Jason Furgerson.
Honorary Pall Bearers are Stephen Walthall, Gray Richardson, Choctaw VFW Post 4764, State of Arkansas Past VFW Commanders.
