Samuel Eugene Ashcraft, known affectionately as Sam, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 61 on April 22, 2025, in Clinton, Arkansas. Born on June 27, 1963, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Sam grew up to be a deeply cherished member of his community. Sam was most recently employed as a delivery driver.
Sam retired from the Jefferson County Sheriff Department and was a former small business owner of RPS Court Services and Ashcraft Process Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carrol and Dora Ritzinger Ashcraft; brothers Jimmy Ashcraft; Jerry Ashcraft; and sister Nancy Dickerson.
Sam is survived by his wife of 35 years, Deanna; daughter Breanna Ashcraft; son Cody Ashcraft (Lizzie); two granddaughters June and Ava; brothers David Ashcraft and Johnny Ashcraft (Teresa).
Sam was well-known for his active involvement in various community organizations. He dedicated much of his time to the Masons and Shriners, embodying the principles of brotherhood, compassion, and service. Sam also played a significant role in mentoring the youth through the DeMolay and Rainbows programs, where he was admired for his guidance and kindness.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Ozark View Funeral Home.
