Melissa Foster, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 17, 2026, in Bee Branch, Arkansas. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, warmth, and strength—and gave the best hugs you’ll ever get. She was truly one of the best people you could have ever met.
Melissa and her twin sister, Melinda, were born on December 20, 1959, in Wellsville, New York (hometown: Andover, New York), to Mrs. Edna Mae Carson and Mr. Clarence Carson, also known as Mickey. Sadly, her twin sister Melinda passed away not long after being born.
Melissa’s passion in life was her friends and family. She believed that friends and family were everything, and as long as she had them, she had everything she needed in life. She loved sitting on her porch with a cup of coffee, reading her book—or simply rubbing her fingers between the pages while waiting for the hummingbirds to appear and taking in the beauty of life, even if only for a moment.
Melissa is survived by her children, Dakota Carson and Nicole Carson; her son-in-law, Michael Lambeth; and her grandchildren, whom she loved so very much: Jadince Young, Adleigh Lambeth, Brixlee Lambeth, and twins Ryleigh and Henleigh Lambeth. She is also survived by some of her best friends—Kim, BJ, Jodi, Lisa, Joanne, Monique, and Christie—as well as a host of other beloved family members.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Mae; her father, Clarence “Mickey” Carson; her twin sister, Melinda; and many other loved friends and family members.
Melissa’s beautiful soul will be missed by so many. She will never be forgotten, as she lives on in everyone whose life she touched and who loved her so deeply.
