Marjorie Louise Koone, 83, of Alread, departed from this world on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born June 16, 1941 in Massachusetts to the late William and Ruth Rogers-Buss.
Marjorie spent more than 40 years teaching at the Alread School, where she helped shape the lives of so many students. She cared deeply for every child who walked through her classroom door and made a lasting impact on generations of families.
To her Alread community, Marjorie was more than a teacher—she was a friend, a helper, and someone who always put others before herself. She gave her time, her love, always helping those in need without hesitation. From placing flags on graves to quietly lending a hand to those going through hard times, she always showed up for others; Marjorie led by example and showed us all what it means to live with kindness and grace.
She loved Alread, and Alread deeply loved her. Marjorie was a true pillar of the community, and her absence will be felt far and wide.
Left to cherish her memory, one son, Scott Koone and wife Julie; siblings, Kathy Buss and Steve Buss; several grandchildren great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mark Koone; son, Andy Koone.
As Marjorie requested, no formal service will take place. Instead, she would want each of us to carry on her spirit by being a helping hand to those around us and to our community—just as she always was.
