Marie Olive Appleby, 86, of Birdtown, Arkansas, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 30, 1940, in Dennard, Arkansas, to the late John Kelly Morgan and Helen Miller Morgan.
Marie was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She made sure her home was always filled with love, comfort, and everything her family needed. She had a special gift for growing flowers and was known for always having the most beautiful blooms around her home.
Marie loved to bake, especially cookies, and was well known for making the best fudge every Christmas season. She was a talented knitter and lovingly made baby blankets for anyone she knew who was expecting—gifts that will be cherished for generations.
In her quieter moments, Marie enjoyed reading and coloring. She also found joy in music, especially listening to her favorite songs by Alan Jackson.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bobby C. Appleby and wife, Teresa, and Billy Appleby and wife, Sheila; her grandchildren, Kelsey N. Appleby, Adam S. Appleby, Amber Appleby and husband, Bruce Thomas, Brianna Pate and husband, T.J. Pate, and Jay W. Smith and wife, Leah; her great-grandchildren, Keith J. Appleby, Cooper Pate, Teagan Pate, and Olive Carter Appleby, who is expected to arrive in October; nephew, Johnny Appleby; niece, Deb Appleby; her beloved companion, her beagle, “Baby Girl”; as well as her special friends, Brenda and Cindy Harwood.
Marie is preceded death by her parents; husband, Bobby Joe Appleby.
Marie will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and the love she shared so freely with her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
