Maggie (Thomas) Branscumb

Maggie Branscumb, 80, of Clinton, formerly of Oppelo, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. She was born on February 4, 1945, to the late Mattie and Allison Thomas.

Maggie dedicated over 25 years to her career as a CNA before retiring. Known for her giving spirit and gentle heart, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Her children remember her always getting outside with them to play—whether it was jumping rope or throwing a football, she loved to have fun and be right in the middle of the laughter.

Her home was often filled with the aroma of her best-loved recipes, especially her famous peanut butter cookies, enchiladas, and cornbread. In quieter moments, Maggie enjoyed coloring, which became one of her favorite pastimes and a way she found peace and joy. She lived simply but fully, and those who knew her will always remember her heart of gold.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Alice Presnull and husband Ronnie, Joann Henley, and Linda Mathes; siblings, Ralph Thomas and wife Jackie of Houston, Arkansas, Junior Thomas of Houston, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Alice Thomas; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.

Maggie is preceded in death by her parents, Mattie and Allison Thomas; husband, Tollie Branscumb; siblings, Bill Thomas, Aubrey Thomas, Frances MeGhee, Virginia Meeler, and Susie Martian.

Pallbearers are Zephaniah Presnull, Bart Presnull, Lance Watts, Brandon Henley, Tollie Abbot, Skylar Abbot.

Honorary Pallbearer is Jonathan Drewery

Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. with services following at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Ozark View Funeral Home with Ronnie Presnull officiating. Burial will follow at Dennard Cemetery.
