Lee Eugene Threadgill, a beloved husband, father, and veteran, departed from this world on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the age of 82. Lee was born on February 18, 1941 in Alice, Texas to the late Lee Eugene Threadgill and Virginia Doris Daze-Threadgill. Lee grew up as a passionate young man determined to defend his country. He joined the United States Army, and later went on to be a Fire Academy Instructor.
After leaving the army, Lee became a valued member of the Van Buren County rescue squad and Botinkburg Fire Department. His hard work, dedication, and tireless approach earned him a reputation as a leader and an inspiration to many. Lee was a dynamic personality that commanded respect wherever he went. He had a strong presence and demanded attention when he entered a room. He was known for his firm belief in his ideas and would never compromise on his principles.
Lee was a wonderful husband and father who deeply loved his family. As an instructor, he mentored and inspired countless men and women with his teachings. Lee was a guiding light to many who looked up to him for guidance and leadership. Lee lived his life with passion and dedication and left his mark on everyone who knew him. Lee's memory will be cherished by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his legacy will live on through them.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Laura Threadgill, Christine Threadgill, Debbie Tatum (Brian), Wayne Webster (Lori), Janice Mcnew (Ronnie), Tracy Williams, John Webster (Melinda), Ben Webster, Michael Webster, Daryle Webster (Kesae-Raye), Bessie Helms (Robbie); siblings, Sam Threadgill of Russellville; 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Virginia Threadgill and one grandson, Tommy Tatum.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at Ozark View Funeral Home.
