Joseph McNeil, 74, of Shirley, Arkansas, departed from this world on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
He was born January 1, 1952, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Edward J. McNeil and Florence Walsh. Growing up in a military family, Joseph experienced life in many places, shaping the hardworking and adaptable man he became.
Joseph spent over 22 years working as a truck driver. Over the years, he also pursued several entrepreneurial ventures. He ran a radio station and MoJo Karaoke, owned and operated a garage called Poor Boys Auto Diesel, and later started a lawn care service. That lawn care business continues today through his sons, who proudly own and operate Orange Crate Lawn Service, carrying on the work he began.
Joseph had a deep love for music—almost all genres, though he never quite got behind rap. He enjoyed playing the guitar and sharing music with those around him. Known by many as the “go-to guy,” Joseph was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer advice. No matter the situation, he had a way of making things work out.
He will be remembered for his resourcefulness, his love of music, and his willingness to help others whenever they needed him most.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dillion McNeil, Abby McNeil, Chase McNeil, Shelby McNeil, Memphis McNeil, Tucker McNeil, and Gavin McNeil; one sister, Linda Miller; 10 grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Tammy Brand, Katie Vander Busch, Jason Miller and a host of friends and other family members.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Kelly Trampe.
