Brian Ward, age 61, passed away on April 25, 2024. Brian was born February 24, 1963 to the late Carrol Ward and Lila Rose Ward in Batesville, AR. Brian graduated from Clinton High School in 1981.
Since his youth, he loved all things outdoors. He enjoyed all types of hunting, fishing, trapping, and taking photos. The place he enjoyed spending the most time was his cabin at Rocky Hill.
Everyone who knew Brian, knew he was a cowboy. He loved the way of life. He rode bulls in the Arkansas High School Rodeo Association and then later rode in the Arkansas Cowboy Association. Brian even participated in some of the first Chuckwagon Races in Clinton. He was always prepared for the trail and next adventure.
Brian began his career in surveying as a young man. He was employed with the National Geodetic Survey for over 30 years. He was a Regional Geodetic Advisor for the Central Plains Region over four states, including Arkansas. His job took him all over the country and to all 50 states. Brian made some of the best friends along the way and has the stories to prove it.
Brian is survived by his mother Lila Rose Ward, sister Traci Wilson (Johnnie), his brothers; Steve (Susan), David (Stephanie) of Clinton, Arkansas and brother Scott (Rita) of Mountain View, Arkansas. Also, cherished friend Jamie Elliot of Vilonia, Arkansas. His beloved nieces and nephews of whom he was very proud; Kyle Harding, Courtney Oleson, Lauren Oleson, Lance Ward, Luke Ward, Cole Ward, Abigail Bonds, Harrison Lester, Kaleb Ward and Gunnar Ward as well as seven great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Ozark View Funeral Home Tuesday, April 30 at 2:00. Internment will be at the Salem Cemetery at Rocky Hill, Arkansas.
