John A. Martin

John Anthony Martin, 78 of Clinton began his peaceful rest November 30, 2025 after an eight year battle with cancer. 

John was born April 8, 1947 in Baltimore, MD to John Stanley Martin and Uval Irene Martin-Poist. 

He was predeceased by his father, mother, stepfather Walter J. Poist, sister Lucille "Cookie" Martin and brother Michael Martin. 

John is survived by his wife of 32 years Christi Cullum Martin of Clinton Arkansas and daughter Jennifer Joye Martin of Rockville, Maryland. 

John proudly served the United States Air Force as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist assigned to BOMARC missile facilities,  part of the broader SAGE (Semi-Automatic Ground Environment) network for North American air defense. He later taught Nuclear Weapons Management at Lowry AFB, Denver Colorado.

After serving his country, John worked for Smith Energy Company and spent the final 21 years of his career with Roadway Express, Denver Colorado. He enjoyed cars, motorcycles, travel and had a passion for baking and tremendous love for animals. He loved mentoring and sharing his cooking expertise.

To fulfill John's wishes his ashes will be returned to CO and friends will gather for a celebration of life at a later date.
