Gwyndola Gray Obituary

Gwyndola Gray, 81 of Shirley, Arkansas, entered her Heavenly home on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, surrounded by her children and loved ones. She was born on March 14, 1942, in Clinton, Arkansas to Herbert and Otha Clark.

Gwyndola will always be remembered for her strength, love of her children and others, dedication to God, and her talented piano playing.  She had a contagious smile and inward joy despite the struggles she faced in life. She loved helping others and making them laugh with her crazy antics. We never knew what she was going to do or say!

Her favorite past times included working in her yard and flower beds, watching any Razorback game, and shopping – particularly at Dollar Tree.

She led a life of service that included being a nanny, playing the piano at many revivals and funerals, cleaning houses and the church for many years. In her younger years, she was the pianist for the Clinton Quartet gospel group which made an album.

Gwyndola is a true example for all of us of Christ-like love and service toward others. She always put others in front of herself.

There will always be a large hole left in our hearts that no one or nothing else can fill. However, her legacy of compassion will live on with us forever.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Jeffrey Gray (Debbie) of Shirley, Audra Stewart (Todd) of Shirley, Delana Holmes (Tyler) of Shirley, and Brian Gray of Greenbrier, as well as two siblings, Roy Dale Clark (Jereta) and Mary Lea Bradley (Jerry), both of Shirley, Arkansas.

She was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Her grandchildren include Hunter Gray; Nathan and Alyssa Stewart, Ashley Mason, Will Stewart; Chelsea Smithson, Kaden and Hagen Jones; Taylor, Mariah and Peyton Gray, and Evie Harness.  Her great-grandchildren are Paige, Stormy, Ava, and Holden Mason, Talyn McGlawn, Archer and Fielder Stewart, Damian and Lucian Stewart; Kace, Aspen, and Brecken Smithson, Brynlee and Riverlee Jones.

Gwyndola is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Otha Clark, and a very special niece, Lorri Ann Clark, all of Shirley, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Will and Nathan Stewart, Hunter, Taylor, and Peyton Gray, Kaden and Hagen Jones, Jordan and Kace Smithson, and Shane Mason.
