Evadene Bennett

Evadene Bennett, 84, of Shirley, departed from this world on Friday, January 30, 2026. She was born on June 1, 1941, in Atascadero, California, to the late Noel and Grace Smith-Bennett.

Evadene was a happy and loving person who loved the Lord. She was strong-willed and determined and never backed down; she was a fighter. She always did her best and cared deeply for her family.

She had a big heart for animals, especially cats and dogs, and often took in and cared for stray cats in her neighborhood. Evadene enjoyed gardening, loved the beach, and looked forward to her time doing water aerobics, where she stayed active and happy.

Evadene will be remembered for her faith, her strength, and her kind heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Evalene Skinner and Susan Bennett; nieces and nephews, Kim Manville Thomas, Jill Armstrong, and Jason Sanchez; great nieces and nephews, Kelly Vanhoak, Kala Fultz, Aaron Armstrong, Adam Armstrong, Ashley Baker, Bryce Myers, Tyler Myers and a host of friends and other family members.

Evadene is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Adraina Roe; niece, Deborah Myers.

A service will be held at a later date.
