Elvin Dwayne Chapman, 76 of Greenbrier, Arkansas gained his heavenly wings Thursday, October 5, 2023. He was born June 17, 1947 in Clinton, Oklahoma to the late Elvin and Ida Goodman-Chapman. Dwayne grew up in Clinton, Arkansas and married the love of his life Sara Mae on November 1, 1969. They were happily married for 54 years and have three beautiful daughters, Susan, Wanda and Christy. Family was one of the most important things in his life. Dwayne served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War and was a deacon at the Greenbrier Freewill Baptist Church for over 36 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Everyone that knew him, loved him and he will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sara Chapman; daughters, Susan Bradley (Curtis), Wanda Sawrie (Byron), Christy Webb (Justin); siblings, Roger Chapman (Sherry), Gary Chapman (Pat), sister-in-law, Joyce Chapman; grandchildren, Kourtney Bradley, Cody Bradley, Shanda Willis, Megan Giles, Tanner Sawrie, Evan Webb; 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
Dwayne is preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Ida Chapman; siblings, Richard Neal Chapman and Sandra Mauldin.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with services following at 1:00 p.m. at Ozark View Funeral Home, Saturday, October 7, 2023. Burial will follow at the Bluffton Cemetery in Clinton.
