The world lost a bright light on February 22, 2025, when Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Anne Whitchurch, 66, passed away unexpectedly.
A devoted Christian, wife, mother, sister, and friend, she walked the Earth with a gentle grace, cultivating relationships and building lush gardens - beautifying the Earth’s canvas with her presence.
Born November 28, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she was the youngest daughter of David and Marilyn Whitchurch, and raised in Owatonna, MN. She earned her bachelor’s from Minnesota State University Mankato with a degree in Marketing and Journalism. Following graduation, she lived and worked in Chicago for one year, before returning to Minneapolis, MN. There, she met her husband, Davin ‘Dave’ Miller, of 41 years, with whom she raised three daughters - a calling that quickly became her whole world. The family lived in Hudson, WI, where she worked and retired from Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College (WITC) after almost twenty years as their marketing director. Upon retirement, she filled her days deepening her faith as a member and employee of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hudson, WI, as well as gardening as a Master Gardener, loving on her beloved dogs, and celebrating new milestones as a grandmother.
With a growing family, and filled with new excitement and love, she and Dave decided to shorten the distance between Wisconsin and their grandkids in Texas by moving to Fairfield Bay, Arkansas in 2023 - a place that instantly became their new home. A new member at Faith Lutheran Church, she became involved with many new friends and hobbies, including quilting and volunteering at the Public Library and food pantry. She enjoyed boating around Greers Ferry Lake on the pontoon, taking in the beautiful, natural scenery of Northern Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marilyn and David Whitchurch.
She is survived by her husband, Dave Miller of Fairfield Bay, AR, daughters Erin (Sterling Copeland) of Waco, TX, Victoria (John Martinson) of Tomball, TX, Jenna (Mitchell Johnson) of Rochester, MN, sister Gail Whitchurch (Rick Dargatz) of Indianapolis, IN, sister Joan (Kevin Kopperud) of Moorhead, MN, brother David Whitchurch (Kim Coequyt-Hoff) of Bemidji, MN, grandchildren Logan Copeland and Hailey Martinson, many beloved nieces and nephews, her three dogs, and many cherished friends in MN, WI, and AR. She lived her life fully evident that home is where your heart is, and by touching so many lives, she has left parts of her heart and home within so many beautiful people and places.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 12 at 1 pm at Faith Lutheran Church in Fairfield Bay and on May 10 at 1 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hudson, WI.
