It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Duane Chris Casada, a beloved US Marine Military Police Veteran and former Shirley Fire Department Captain. Duane departed from this world on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at the age of 56.
Duane was born July 17, 1966 in Portsmouth, Virginia, the son of Howard and Constance Hugo-Casada. He served in the US Marine Corps as a Military Police officer and was proud to have served his country. After completing his service, Duane returned home and settled in Shirley, where he joined the fire department and eventually rose to the rank of Captain. He was a dedicated public servant who always went above and beyond the call of duty to help his community. Duane was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to go camping, hunting, and fishing. He cherished the time he spent in nature. Most importantly, Duane loved spending time with his family, friends and his daughter. His warm smile, infectious laugh, and kind heart brightened the lives of everyone he met.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Laurel Treon and husband Erik, whom he adored and cherished above all else. He is also survived by his step-father, Charles Blood as well as many friends and other family members. Duane will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
Duane is preceded in death by his parents Howard Casada and Constance Hugo; birth mother, Patricia Blood.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023, 6:30 p.m. at the Ozark View Funeral Home.
