Calvin Graham Obituary

CALVIN WITTMUSS GRAHAM, 99, went to be with our Lord and Savior at home on January 30, 2024 in the company of his loving family.  He was born October 11, 1924 in Beattie, Kansas to Ray and Anna Graham.  His early years were spent on the farm in Nebraska, right across the Kansas state line from his future wife, Velores Koll.  They would live in Kansas, Missouri, and Ohio before moving to Clinton, Arkansas.  They celebrated 74 years of marriage before her death in 2021.  He is also preceded in death by his parents, sister Ray Graham Darner, and his beloved daughter Connie (David Fortlage).

Left to cherish his memory are his four living children, Jon (Donnelle Oldaker), Gregg, Chris (Krissi Harder) and Sue (JK Jones).  By these children, Cal and Velores had 13 grandchildren and more than 23 great-grandchildren.

Cal and Velores have resided in Clinton since 1975. They faithfully attended and served at Fairfield Bay Methodist Church with his mom and sister before recently attending Clinton United Methodist.  Cal loved a challenge.  He worked with aircraft at Boeing in Wichita, and General Motors in Kansas City.  He took this same love to North American Rockwell in Columbus Ohio before starting a new career in real estate.  He worked at Harley E. Rouda in Columbus before beginning a new chapter in Clinton, Arkansas with the establishment of their own real estate company, Graham and Associates.

Cal found many ways to serve through the years.  He was an Elder at Linden Church of Christ in Columbus where he taught Jr. High boys Sunday School for 20 years, was a Boy Scout leader, served on the Clinton Zoning and Planning Commission, and was president of the Van Buren County Board of Realtors.  Folks around Clinton can’t think of Cal and not recognize his work with the local Lion’s Club or 40+ years working with Van Buren County fair.  Cal and Velores were instrumental in locating and obtaining the fairground property.  He also served as a member of the Van Buren County Livestock and Fair Association.  He loved music of all kinds, played clarinet in High School and while in Columbus, sang with the Buckeye Barbershoppers Chorus.  He enjoyed singing in the church choir with his mom and sister while at the Fairfield Bay Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to Clinton United Methodist Church, the local HOSPICE of Clinton or Van Buren County Fair Association.

Family will hold a private celebration service later this year.  If you would like to share a special memory of Cal Graham, with the family, please send to Graham and Associates, P.O. Box 256, Clinton, Arkansas 72031.
