Bobby Joe Creel, age 67, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Bobby was born July 2, 1956, to Billy Mac and Shirley Faye Creel. He was a graduate of North Side High School, Class of 1974. Soon after graduating, he married his High School Sweetheart, Christy, on April 26, 1975. This year, they celebrated 48 years of marriage. Bobby worked for Texas Utilities (now TXU) for 25 years, starting his career as a Meter Reader and finished up his tenure at Handley Plant, where he had many friends who became family. In 2002 Bobby started his next journey at Brazos Electric Power Cooperative. Before retiring in 2014 at the age of 58, Bobby finished his career as the Plant Manager for Brazos Co-op. In his retirement, Bobby went on to volunteer his time at First Baptist Church Lakeside Gym in Lakeside, TX as well as the Stockyards Museum in Fort Worth, TX. Bobby was a member of First Baptist Church of Lakeside for 35 years and participated in the Caleb's Cousins Ministry. Bobby was a participating member of the North Fort Worth Historical Society. In 2018, Bobby and Christy moved to Clinton, AR where they attended Friendship Baptist Church.
Bobby was a devoted Husband and Father to his two daughters, Amanda and Angela. He worked hard to support and provide for his family. He was always there for any game or tournament his daughters had. He loved to play cards and dominoes, keeping the family traditions alive. He loved to laugh and he loved his pups, Chester and Festus.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Billy Mac Creel and his mother, Shirley Faye Creel.
Bobby is survived by his Wife of 48 years, Christy Elizabeth Sanders Creel, Daughters Amanda Creel Shaw and Angela Creel, Grandsons Wyatt and Nolan Shaw.
The Memorial Service will be held Thursdav, August 31st, 10am at Friendship Baptist Church, Clinton AR. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Baptist Church Lakeside Food Pantry, North Fort Worth Historical Society, and Friendship Baptist Church ministry.
